The ironworks are a haunting and morbid location in the Thomas and Friends universe, several rooms of which being overwhelmed by a red glow that illuminates from the various scrapping areas. For this earlier project of mine, I wanted to create the facade of a melting pit seen in the episode “Stepney Gets Lost” to conceal a red light I needed for filming. The end result was a success, and I couldn’t be happier!

Also featured on the left, here is an image of the smelting pit on a scrapyard set from 2018. This is one of the very first structures I ever made, thus, it was merely printed and spray painted grey. In later years I repainted, re-repainted, and weathered the structure. I am very happy that it is still in my collection, and even more-so that it will stay with me and my current stream of models going forward :,)
